Welcome to
Widnes Tigers ARLFC
Widnes Tigers won the Kukri North West Counties Fair Play award for 2010/11 at Annual dinner. For more news from the event, please visit www.nwcoaarl.org.uk and click on news.
Widnes Tigers ARLFC was founded in 1971 making it one of the oldest clubs currently playing in the Town and we shall be celebrating our 40th Birthday early in 2011, so look out for more details. Significantly the 2010/11 Season sees the Tigers returning to its roots at the Parklands Club (formerly The Tigers Club) on Chapel Lane, Cronton from where we will be based , thanks to the invitation from owner Reg Bowden. The Tigers will be sharing the Parklands facilities with Albert Park ARLFC, but operating as two completely separate clubs playing in the Kukri North West Counties League.
The Tigers Committee and player would sincerely like to thank Chris Thornton at the Hammer and Pincers pub for sponsorship over the past seven years as well as staff and regulars for their support and we look forward to as good a relationship with our new hosts at the Parklands in the years ahead.
As well as playing out of the Parklands on match days, we will be retaining our pitch and training facilities at Prescott Road - opposite Four Topped Oak pub - and as such still offer one of the best facilities in the town, benefiting from Floodlit Pitch and All Weather Floodlit Training Compound. Training is now underway for the 2010/2011 Season and new players are welcome as well as any former stars would would like to rejoin the Tigers.
Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6-30pm at Prescott Road , and anyone interested can contact Peter Doyle on 07973 491603. All other enquiries to Graham Tillett (Secretary O/A) on 07900 162518.
